A meticulously arranged flat lay of a tattoo artist’s workstation, featuring a high-end rotary tattoo machine with a matte black body, neatly coiled clip cord, sterile ink caps filled with rich black and soft grey pigments, disposable grip wraps, and precision fine-line needles sealed in blister packs. Everything rests on a smooth stainless-steel tray covered with crisp medical barrier film. The workstation sits on a dark wooden counter in a clean, contemporary Cardiff studio, with blurred framed tattoo flash on the wall behind. Soft, diffused daylight from an unseen window casts gentle reflections on the metal surfaces, creating a professional, hygienic atmosphere. Photographic realism, shot from a slightly elevated angle with shallow depth of field, emphasizes detail and craftsmanship while keeping the mood calm, precise, and reassuring.

Unique, custom tattoo design. Tattooing. Walk ins. Tattoo Restoration. Cover ups. Scar covering.

A close-up of a fresh black and grey geometric tattoo design inked on a synthetic practice skin sheet, showcasing crisp intersecting lines, perfect dotwork shading, and intricate mandala patterns radiating from a central point. The practice skin lies on a dark, textured rubber mat on a studio table, with rulers, stencils, and a fine-line tattoo pen arranged neatly beside it. Overhead studio lighting creates even illumination, bringing out the precision of every line and subtle gradient. The background falls softly out of focus, suggesting a well-organised professional tattoo studio. Photographic realism, eye-level composition with a shallow depth of field, conveys accuracy, patience, and technical mastery in geometric tattooing.

I’ve had multiple tattoos, including cover ups by previous tattooist done over a few years with Andrew and honestly couldn’t recommend him enough. He’s incredibly talented, professional, and makes you feel completely comfortable from start to finish. The attention to detail in his work is amazing and he always takes the time to make sure everything is exactly how you want it. Nothing is ever too much trouble for him — he’s taken all of my weird and wonderful ideas and turned them into amazing pieces of work every single time. The studio atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, which makes the whole experience even better. You can tell he genuinely cares about his clients and takes real pride in his work. So happy with all my tattoos and wouldn’t go anywhere else. Thanks again AJ!

AJ has done a couple of pieces for me now, with more work booked in. He’s very approachable and welcoming. The booking process is easy and AJ is happy to work with the my requests, or tailor his own work to suit my needs. He is very professional and follows all the correct guidelines when tattooing. The studio is very clean, and equipment is sterilised. I am so pleased with the work he has done so far, and I would highly recommend.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.

How old do you have to be to be to get a tattoo?

It is ILLEGAL to tattoo under 18’s in the United Kingdom!
You must be a least 18 years of age or older to get tattooed. If I suspect you are under 18 I will require photo ID before I can proceed with your tattoo.

Can I get a tattoo with parental consent? I have had people asking me if they can be tattooed if a parent signs the consent form, and the answer is NO!

Will I need to pay a Tattoo deposit?

Every tattoo will require a tattoo deposit, this is non-refundable if artwork has been prepared and is to hold your booked date/time and to cover the preparation of your design.

A minimum of 4 days notice is required to change or cancel any tattoo appointment. Shorter notice will forfeit the deposit.

Can I move my tattoo appointment?

You can move your appointment providing I have at least 72 hours notice.
I understand life happens to us all, you will be able to rebook a new date provided you let me know in time.

I only require a new deposit to be paid if you don’t contact me as above.

deposits are non-transferable.

Can I see my tattoo design before the appointment?

I takes a lot of time and a great deal of thought to meticulously prepare your design in advance, ensuring that it is ready for your appointment. I will present you with your design, taking into consideration the information and references you have provided. Together, we will then engage in a thoughtful discussion, addressing any potential modifications or enhancements you may desire before commencing the actual tattooing process. I strive to ensure that your vision is realised with utmost precision and satisfaction.

Do you offer walk-in tattoo appointments?

Getting a walk-in tattoo might seem convenient, but it can often lead to regret and disappointment. An impulsive decision like this may result in a design that you don’t truly love or a poorly executed tattoo. I usually have very limited time and resources for walk-ins, which means I might not be able to give your tattoo the attention and detail it deserves. Additionally, without proper planning and research, you may end up with a tattoo that doesn’t align with your personal style or has a deeper meaning that you didn’t consider. It’s important to remember that tattoos are permanent and should be thoughtfully chosen. Instead of rushing into a walk-in tattoo, take the time to find a skilled artist who understands your vision and can create a masterpiece that you will cherish forever.

That said, If I am available in the studio I may ba able to do a simple walk-in. Please send me a Whatsapp message if this is what you want and if I’m available I’ll do my best to accommodate your request.

Can I USE NUMBING CREAM?

Yes, you can use numbing cream, but with strict legal and practical conditions. Due to recent legislation in Wales, creams must be registered with the MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency). Studios now enforce strict bans on unapproved, black-market creams.

Key Things You Should Know

  • Legal Requirements: Any topical anaesthetic with Lidocaine is considered a medicinal product. In Wales, it is illegal for an artist to tattoo you if you use non-approved or unregulated creams.
  • Artist’s Approval: Even if it is legal and MHRA-approved, your specific artist may refuse to tattoo you if you use it. Numbing creams can change skin texture, make the skin slippery, and sometimes alter how the skin takes ink.
  • The “Rebound” Effect: Most numbing creams (like Emla) last roughly 1 to 2 hours. When the cream wears off, the pain can come back sharply, making longer sessions difficult.
  • Safety First: Only use MHRA-approved products. You can check if a cream is officially registered on the MHRA Public Access Database.
